The Funeral Home General Price List will vary in cost. Before discussing funeral services and merchandise for making funeral arrangements, your funeral director is mandated by federal laws to provide you a General Price List for your retention. A complete price list will be provided at the funeral establishment for your inspection prior to your selection.
The goods and services shown below are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire; However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide, describing the funeral merchandise and services you selected.
1. LOCAL TRANSFER OF REMAINS TO THE FUNERAL HOME:
A. Within a 20 mile radius of the funeral home: $395.00
B. Transfer of remains to or from the Connecticut Airports: $395.00
C. Transfer of remains to or from NYC Airports: $475.00
D. House calls: $475.00 ($50.00 per extra personnel)
Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Embalming may be necessary, however, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a FUNERAL WITH VIEWING. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to choose an arrangement that does not require you to pay for it, such as DIRECT CREMATION or IMMEDIATE BURIAL. DISCLAIMER: We reserve the right to embalm human remains entered into our custody if Funeral Director deems it necessary for public health safety.

3. OTHER PREPARATION OF REMAINS:
A. Cosmetology, Grooming, Dressing, and Casketing: $225.00
B. Alternative Care of Remains: (Bathing & surface disinfection of unembalmed remains) : $395.00
C. Restoration of Remains (when necessary, per hour): $195.00
4. BASIC SERVICES OF THE FUNERAL DIRECTOR, STAFF & OVERHEAD: $1,495.00
This fee will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. This fee is already included in our charges for Direct Cremations, Immediate Burials, and Forwarding or Receiving Remains. Includes the following: Staff available 24 hours daily to respond to the initial request for services; Conference with the family or its representative, and advice to determine desired services and to obtain vital statistical information for required documents; Sheltering of Remains for 3 days; Coordinating the desired funeral service plans with: clergy, cemetery, crematory, and/or other third parties; Preparation and filing of all necessary notices, authorizations and permits with governmental offices; Follow-up attention to related details connected with the service. In addition, this fee includes a proportionate share of our basic overhead costs such as: Compliance with infectious waste management regulations, and employee safety regulations mandated by governmental agencies; general administration; and record keeping.
5. OPTIONAL USE OF FUNERAL HOME FACILITIES, STAFF AND EQUIPMENT:
May include the following: Securing obituary information for newspaper notices, if desired; Supervision by funeral director and staff for visitation and/or ceremony; Receiving and arrangement of flowers and other memorial tributes; Professional adherence to the rituals of designated religious faiths and/or fraternal orders.

A. Funeral Directors, Staff & Equipment, when transferring remains:
1. Transfer to another local facility for: (Viewing and/or Visitation or Funeral Ceremony) : $150.00
2. Transfer from another local facility for: (Holding at Funeral Home for Next Day Committal) : $75.00
B. Facilities, Funeral Director, and Staff, with necessary equipment for:
1. Sheltering/Refrigeration of Remains Per Day, (After 3rd Day) : $125.00
C. Disinterment: (Does not include necessary merchandise for re-interment or permit fees): $995.00
7. AUTOMOTIVE EQUIPMENT:
All transportation charges are for local service.
Over 20 mile radius add $1.00 per loaded mile, per vehicle.
A. Hearse (Funeral Coach) : $395.00
B. Seven passenger Limousine takes family one place
after burial and leaves immediately following drop off : $395.00
C. Service Vehicle, e.g., Flower Car, Lead Car : $195.00
D. Horse Drawn Funeral Coach : $1,400.00
DISCLAIMER: 3.5 hours is allotted per vehicle(s) from time of pick up; an additional $65 per hour will be charged for overtime.

This charge includes: LOCAL TRANSFER of remains to our Facility (1A), Embalming normal remains (2A), Cosmetology, Grooming and Dressing (3A), Basic Services of the Funeral Director and Staff (4), Funeral at our Chapel (5B1), Acknowledgment Cards (8A1), Register Book (8A2), Rental Casket (8C), Medical Examiner (other), Burial and Cremation Permit Fee (other). It does not include: newspaper notice or wake. Service must take place Monday – Friday at a time set by the Funeral Director. NOTE: THIS PACKAGE CANNOT BE USED FOR PRENEED PLANNING
10. FORWARDING REMAINS TO ANOTHER FUNERAL HOME: $3,260.00
This charge includes: LOCAL TRANSFER of remains to our Facility (1A), Embalming normal remains (2A), Cosmetology, Grooming and Dressing (3A), Basic Services of the Funeral Director and Staff (4), LOCAL TRANSFER of remains to Connecticut Airports (1B). It does not include: Merchandise, Air Tray, Optional use of Facilities, Staff and Equipment (5A or B) (the use of facilities for viewing and/or funeral ceremony), and other preparation of remains (3B or C), if necessary.
11. RECEIVING REMAINS FROM ANOTHER FUNERAL HOME: $2,510.00
This charge includes: LOCAL TRANSFER of remains to our Facility from Connecticut Airports (1B), Cosmetology and Grooming, when receiving remains with Viewing, Basic services of the Funeral Director & Staff (4), LOCAL TRANSFER of remains to the place of final deposition (7A). It does not include: Merchandise, Optional use of Facilities, Staff and Equipment (5A or B) (the use of facilities for viewing and/or funeral ceremony), Embalming (2).)
12. DIRECT CREMATIONS: From $2,265.00 – $11,995.00
Alternative Container for item (12B) below: Cardboard Cremation Container. If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). The containers we provide are Gray Cloth, Cardboard Cremation Container (any Casket). This charge includes: LOCAL TRANSFER of remains to our Facility (1A), Basic Services of the Funeral Director and Staff (4), and Hearse (Funeral Coach) for LOCAL TRANSPORTATION to crematory. It does not include: Merchandise, Viewing, Funeral or Memorial Services (5A or B), Embalming (2),and other preparation of remains (3A or C), if necessary; Cremation Fee and Medical Examiner’s Fee.

This charge includes: LOCAL TRANSFER of remains to our Facility (1A), Basic Services of the Funeral Director and Staff (4), Other Preparation of remains for Identification (3B) and Hearse (Funeral Coach) for LOCAL TRANSPORTATION to crematory. It does not include: Merchandise (except items below), Vault, Optional use of Facilities, Staff and Equipment (5A or B), (the use of the facilities for viewing or a funeral ceremony), Embalming (2). : from $2,265.00 – $11,995.00

NOTE: For any cremation service selected, a $395.00 deposit is due. $395.00 will be returned upon family retrieving cremains.

These disclosures are made in compliance with the requirements set forth by the Federal Trade Commission. These prices have been computed according to the guidelines set forth by the F.T.C. Rule and in accordance with generally accepted practices by the Howard K. Hill Funeral Services. Our Funeral home makes no representation or warranties regarding caskets, outer containers, or other funeral goods sold by the funeral home. The only warranties express or implied, granted in connection with the goods sold with this funeral service are the express written warranties, if any, extended by the manufacturers thereof. No other warranties, express or implied, including the implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, are extended by the Howard K. Hill Funeral Services.
TERMS OF PAYMENT
Payment in full must be made at the completion of arrangements. Deposit will be expected on all Cash Advance items prior to the Funeral Service (Death Certificates, Church Honorariums, Cemetery, and Newspaper Costs).
Payment in full must be made prior to any and all media announcements including but not limited to: Newspaper, and/or Social Media Networking)
All Insurance Assignments may be subject to a 1-5% Insurance Processing Fee.
Assignment of funeral bill from a Life Insurance Policy is accepted; however, the Insurance Company must verify beneficiary to Funeral Home and honor a Funeral Home Assignment.
NO LIFE INSURANCE POLICY WILL BE ACCEPTED WHEN THE POLICY IS IN THE CONTESTABLE PERIOD (0-2 years)
ACCEPTABLE FORMS OF PAYMENT
Discover, Master Card, Visa, Certified Check, Help Card or Cash.
Payment Arrangements are available only through a third party credit company. (DSS Cases are not eligible for this program).
TITLE 19 ELIGIBILITY
The Department of Social Services will contribute up to $1800.00 towards funeral costs provided the total cost of the funeral does not exceed $4600.00. If there are any assets in the deceased’s name, the $1800.00 will be reduced by the dollar amount of assets. Assets include but are not limited to cars, homes, bank accounts, patient account, etc… Credit card transactions are not accepted with DSS cases.
