Howard K Hill is proud to have provided cremation services to communities such as New Haven, East Haven, Hartford, Windsor, West Haven, Bloomfield and many more. The enclosed body is placed in the cremation chamber where through heat and evaporation the body is reduced to its basic elements, which are referred to as cremated remains. Ashes are not the final result since cremated remains have neither the appearance nor the chemical properties of ashes- they are, in fact, bone fragments. After preparation, these elements are either placed in a permanent urn or in a temporary container that is suitable for transporting to a specified site. Depending upon size of the body, cremains generally weigh between three to nine pounds. Cremation of the body is final. The process will be explained. Our Funeral Directors are trained to help you understand the options available to you. Whether you select a direct cremation or a viewing with a cremation, we can accommodate you. Upon completion of the funeral arrangements, you can be assured that you will thoroughly understand the cremation process. We can assist you in providing a memorable final tribute for your loved one.
